Avatar- A movie that puts "Twilight" back where it belongs on the shelves. the movie really defines where special effects future is heading. A great action/scifi movie with a solid story .. 10's across the board
Sherlock Holmes- Now i love me some Robert downing Jr. but this movie was cute, and kind of funny but I could have waited for it on DVD. he was great and so was Rachael Adams, however the story just did nothing for me really.. 5 out of 10
Alvin and the Chipmunks (The Squeakquel)- As a kid I loved the chipmunks and I loved the 1st movie. This one was not as good and the only good parts where when the Chipettes where on which wasn't enough if you ask me. their version of "single Ladies" was cute til I remembered who's sings that song. 5 out of 10
It's Complicated- Meryl Streep is all I have to say but wait Alec Baldwin ,Oh wait Steve Martin OK Now that's all I have to say. This is for the grown and sexy not for those with a limited movie type. it was so funny that I may see it again. this is the year of Indie films. 10's across the board
NINE- if your looking for are looking for "Chicago 2" this isn't it. having seen the play years ago with Ms. Eartha Kitt I must say that it was missing most of a solid story. I loved it don't get me wrong but I would have loved it more at home on a DVD. Musical Numbers were great Fergie's "Be Italian" showed her in a very different vocal range then we are use too and it was very good. Kate Hudson shocked me the most because I never thought she could dance or sing then i remembered her mother is "Goldie Hawn" she truly made a name for herself here. Sofia Lauren is more stunning now then she has ever been. Even though I rave about it the story becomes very unclear (even though I know it) so i give it 6 out 10
This year was probably the best year for movies in years. This was the year of real actors and actresses not singers trying to act or vice verse with movies like "Chicago" and now "Nine" Actors and Actresses are going back to basics Dancing, singing and ACTING (which is a skill that not everyone had)There is a real award season this year due to the great movies of this year and the work that was spent casting and directing. Bravo 09" for ending the decade on a high Note for movies now next year let's work on the music industry.
In movie News: Sex and the City 2 will be release May 28Th of Next and the trailer is making it's rounds now ( I'm so excited)this one shows us how they all came to be friends and what our girls were like 80's style.
Jennifer Hudson has been confirmed to play Winnie Mandela. Now this what i am talking about people She is An Academy Award winning actress because SHE CAN ACT. Jennifer also has a indie film pending for release with fellow Academy Award winning actor Forest Whitaker.
WHY DID I GET MARRIED 2 is due out in Mid April and from what I understand this story really is focused through the eyes of Janet's Character (Patricia)and it features EVERYONE in the original cast and from the preview it's going to be Juicy.
Chris Brown is part of and ensemble cast in "Takers" Due out in the beginning of 2010 Chris is also one of the Exec. producers of this film Which also stars Paul walker,Idris Elba,Matt Dillon,Tip 'T.I.' Harris,Michael Ealy,Hayden Christensen just to name a few. (I am pulling for you Chris)
In Music News:
OMG! Beyonce has a new album coming due out in 2010 (can you say Mariah?!?)with the new year she is coming out with a new fragrance "Heat" Also it has been rumored that she will be headlining Wynn's hotel and Casino for 5 years for 500 million. (Not true) 500 million is what they are hoping to take in with her run. people get a clue and Beyonce sit down.
Lady Gaga- has released "Telephone" as her new single which in my eyes is much better then "Video phone"
can't wait to see the video
Billboard charts in the final week of the year Susan Boyle remains at no.1 with her debut CD "I dreamed A dream" Mary J.Bilge is at no.2 ,But the big winner in this weeks charts is Taylor Swift who this time last year was no.1 with "fearless" well swift is no.5 with the same album "Fearless" in a whole year she is down 5 spots. Damn 09" belongs to Taylor Swift. Big losers to close out the charts Beyonce and Rhianna: Beyonce's album is no.51 on the charts this time last year she was no.3 while Rhianna cried victim and her lastest album "Rated R" people didn't buy it.
Janet will stake her claim in 2010 as well with "Why did I get Married too" her semi-auto biography and an album. She is back to basics on this new album Terry and Jimmy and her first home A&R records. I'm ready are you?

2000- Wow 2000 was when u can say i found myself i graduated from high school as well as moved out on my own as well as had my first sexual experience with a guy i will name "conquistador".
2001- January 2001 i was able to go to the Super Bowl in Tampa with my Best Friend Ramon who's father was the founder of the group "Baha Men" you might know them best for their hit song back then called "who let the dogs out" That was a very memorable weekend i will never forget. Um February saw me leave the state for about 5 months to journey to Appomattox,VA where the Civil War ended a small country town i moved in with a friend and his lover at the time and it taught me that life is what you make of it and you cant believe what people say. I would say the experience opened up my eyes alot and i was able to grow but i missed home and home was where the heart was.
The Summer of 2001 to the Summer of 2002 I dealt with alot of family turmoil between me and my family as well as turmoil amongst themselves which for the second time told me i was tired of Florida again and it was best for me to leave. The journey this time was Raleigh,NC where i was extremely bored and slightly depressed at being in a boring place. I stayed in Raleigh for about 4 month til the mid ogf december where the city had shut down one day due to a terrible snow storm and that was my sign that it was time to go back to Florida once again.
2003- Was an life changing experience on alot of levels for me in February i began my first real relationship with a great guy which last for about 2.5 years which ended on my birthday of all days but hey those are the breaks. In May of this year i started working as an HIV/AIDS Youth Advocate/Outreach Worker where i would go into the community and talk to youth about HIV/AIDS/STDs anfd this journey lasted for 5 years before moving to DC in Dec of 07. Um in Oct of this year i was diagnosed with the HIV Virus from an sexual enciunter that i had prior to getting into my relationship with Q who was negative and is still. IF you look to the right side column i talk about living with HIV with blogger Darian Aaron. The reminding 2 months of 03 is a blur.
2004-I moved into my first apartment with my boyfriend in March of this year and this is when i had to become an adult and be more responisble but that didnt always happen due to not prioritizing what matters and as a result i was evicted. The rest of the year was an ok year i celebrated Thanksgiving with my boyfriend and my family which i thought would be a disaster but turned out wonderful in the end. I was afraid of how my family would react to us being together and having Thanksgiving but their were no blow ups and the food came out perfect.
2005 was an up and down year which saw me lose my grandfather to Cancer. That pretty much all i can remeber from this year.
2006 i lost my apartment due to letting "Friends" get the better of me and i allowed myself to lose focus of what was important but in the end i can blame no one but me for losing my apartment. Also this year i ended my 2.5 year relationship with Q as well as.
2007 saw me enter my 2nd real relationship with "Neo" and even though it was for a short spell it was an good one looking back. The could have and should have you go thru once it has ended was something i still think about today. On December 27 i said goodbye to my job and Florida and hello to the Nation's Capital Washington DC.
2008-2009 Has been a very rough spell for me while being here in DC it has saw me become homeless and live in a shelter and it has opened up my eyes to alot of things that i need to do to get back on track for the New Year and a New Me! 3010 i proclaim it to me my year!

When we last left the 'Sex and the City' crew, Charlotte braced herself for motherhood. Miranda tired of it. Samantha ditched monogamy for free agency on the run up to her 50th birthday, and after some lavish planning and missed connections, Carrie and Big finally tied the knot at City Hall.
All seemed right at last with our favorite, aging fashionistas. But as Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) says in the trailer for next summer's 'Sex and the City 2': "it's been two years. And in two years, amazing things can happen."
The film will be released on May 28,2010.

Steph Jones is back with a new single entitled "Little Drummer Boy" and he says this is not a song for just the holiday season but that "I didnt make this song just for christmas. Its a song that I remade to show that when its your true calling you are to be the best you can in order to inspire others..which will bring people together. When me, Jordin Sparks and B Scott were marching with those drums I imagined us being on the frontline in a war and it was my way of saying that it doesn't matter if you are man, women, gay or straight... We should all be able to come together and fight for a certain cause no matter who you are.. And once we trully figure that out then that's when we grow as a people."
4 those feeling down and out here is blogger Xem Van Adams of www.xemvanadams.com who i have featured on this site throught his journey over the last year and half with an very inspirational message as we end 2009 and begin 2010. "We Shall Win in 2010 For The Victory is Already Ours".
2004’s American Idol Winner, R&B Songstress, FANTASIA BARRINO is in a new VH1 reality series where VH1 has decided to chronicle Fantasia’s RETURN to the music forefront. Fantasia new album comes out in March 2010 and her new single entitled " Move On Me" will be released in January 2010.

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry has died, one day after suffering serious injuries upon falling out of the back of a pickup truck in what authorities describe as a domestic dispute with his fiancee. Police say Henry died at 6:36 a.m. Thursday. Henry was 26. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a dispute began at a home Wednesday and Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancee was driving away from the residence. Wow it was amazing to watch the debate streaming live yesterday on the New York Senate website to possible view history in New York possibly becoming the 6th state to reconize same sex marriage but their was not enough votes needed to make history.
The New York Senate rejected a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage in the Empire State by a vote of 38-24 after a passionate debate on the floor earlier today. The Senate debate on marriage equality was streamed live over the internet and received over 10,000 views setting a record for the most watched Senate hearing to date. I must these two ladies speeches below were very powerful. First Brooklyn Senator Velmanette Montgomery speaks on the Marriage Equality Bill then it will be followed by Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson.

The D.C. Council voted Tuesday to legalize same-sex marriage in the District, as the city moves quickly to join five states in allowing gay couples to marry.
After months of debate, the council passed the bill 11 to 2. It still must take a second vote in two weeks before the measure can go to Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D), who has said he will sign it.
If the bill survives a required congressional review period, the District will join New Hampshire, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont and Massachusetts in allowing same-sex marriage.
Council members Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) and Yvette M. Alexander (D-Ward 7) were the only two members to vote against the bill.
Before casting his vote, Barry gave an impassioned speech noting that he is a longtime supporter of gay rights. But Barry said that his constituents oppose same-sex marriage, and that he believed the council should have authorized a referendum on the issue.
"I stand here today to express in no uncertain terms my strong commitment to the gay and lesbian, bisexual, transgender community on almost every issue except this one," Barry said.
He then went on to plead with gay and lesbian residents not to hold his "no" vote against him.
"It's not fair to make this one issue a litmus test as to one's commitment to human rights, to justice, and I resent those who would make it a litmus test," Barry said.
Private polls show that black voters are far more likely than white voters in the District to oppose same-sex marriage. Both Barry and Alexander represent majority black wards and they also have stated that they were under considerable pressure from African-American ministers in their wards to vote against the bill.
Today is World AIDS Day across the world and I wanted to take a moment and remeber my good friend Shelton Jackson who passed away from the virus earlier this year at the age of 31. Shelton will always and forever live in my heart. Love You!. Below is a video i found of Shelton being interviewed for Street Talk.

This could be one of the biggest stories of 2009 especially with so much unnecessary craziness in LGBT party circuit with "No Shows" at highly publicized events, promoter's broken promises, and outrageous prices for overly hyped Pride events. But there may be some light at the end of the tunnel for the circuit scene.
It's seems 4 clubs have gotten together to put together, which at first glance, will be one of the biggest circuit parties of the year. Voodoo Lounge and the Situation Room of Fort Lauderdale have teamed up with Club Boi and Vault Miami of Miami; to create the South Florida Circuit Party, Thanksgiving weekend in South Florida. All of these clubs are AWESOME, each bringing their own distinct charm and flavor to the table, but put these clubs together to create this traveling party each night, should be alot of FUN. I am very excited to see how this one turns out. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard about this event, 4 competing clubs joining together to create an absolutely mind-blowing party. It's music to my ears, and a saving grace to the club circuit scene, which most of us love, but have been disgusted by, with the scandals, feuds, and "the like" in recent memory.
If you feel the South Florida Circuit Party isn't enough, the White Party on South Beach will be in full swing Thanksgiving weekend as well. So if you are not one of those 10.2% (staggering number, 2010 will be better for everyone I think) who are unemployed at the moment, head down to Miami for one exciting Thanksgiving weekend. The high temperature in Miami today, 82 degrees and sunny. Think about it???!! For more info, check out www.thevaultmiami.com, which has info and links to all the different nights' events.

Broward County's first openly gay mayor was sworn in to office Tuesday. His new role was celebrated by gay and lesbian activists.
Growing up, Ken Keechl was always fascinated by politics, but thought he could never get elected as an openly gay man. Tuesday morning, Keechl, 47, raised his right hand as he was sworn in as Broward County's first openly gay mayor. For the next year, he will preside over the dais of Florida's second-most populous county (1.8 million residents).
``Whether you know it or not, your vote to make me Broward's mayor was historic in America -- but that's a discussion for another day, in another venue,'' Keechl said at the swearing-in ceremony at Broward County Hall.
Keechl was selected by his fellow commissioners. The job of mayor rotates each year among them.
``We've waited so long for this day to come,'' said Michael Albetta, president of the Florida GLBT Democratic Caucus. ``We're honored and pleased that the eight other county commissioners see his professionalism and are not judging him on his personal lifestyle.'' Keechl, a Democrat, was first elected in 2006 when he trumped veteran Republican politician Jim Scott for the District 4 seat. He had previously built a name for himself as an activist in the gay and lesbian community and for protesting large-scale development.

When i first saw him i was like yes this is the one that i have been long for and yearning for all my life. He came in an swept me off me feet, in the begining everything was heaven. Long walks on the beach, eating out at fancy upscale restaraunts and lavish shopping sprees. He gave me everything i wanted and need physically mentally and emotionally. 6 months into the relationship is when it started to go down hill. One night as i laid asleep is whn he took advantage of me and raped and bat me up for no reason but the story doesnt end there that was just the begining of a wirl wind of events.
Confessions pt. 2
The abused lasted for 4 years as i was physically, emotionally, and mentally abused by the man who at one point in time cared for me and said he loved me and i in return the same for him. But everytime i saw him hatred built up inside of me so much hatred i thought i would explored or turn into my alter-ego which i didnt want too do. For 4 long years i was held captive in side of our beautiful 6 bedroom 5 bath home over looking the ocean. I stayed for him because i had no other choice but to stay. i had no friends and family he turned me against the only people that loved me. He said it was only the 2 of us and we would conquer the world together. During these 4 years i didnt work since i got everything my heart dreamed and he said i didnt have to work. He didnt want to see my working hard busting my ass from 9-5 everyday. But why why why what could i do to escape the grips of this life that is cold and lonely now. All i have is me and no one else is was time to do something what i have no idea, but all i knew it was time to get the hell out of dodge quick fast and in a hurry........

The Chiefs confirmed Monday that they had run out of patience with his off-the-field problems and released Johnson the day he was due to come back from his second suspension in a year.
Johnson, who turns 30 on Nov. 19, was just 75 yards away from breaking Priest Holmes' team rushing record.
The decision by the Chiefs (1-7) was not a surprise.
"A part of him is excited and a part of him is very regretful," Johnson's agent, Peter Schaffer, told The Associated Press. "There's a lot of feelings going on right now. It's analogous to breaking up with a girlfriend. Maybe you saw it coming, but it still hurts when it happens."
On Oct. 25, in what turned out to be his final episode with the Chiefs, he posted on his Twitter account several insults to fans, questioned coach Todd Haley's credentials and used a gay slur.
He repeated the slur the next day to reporters and was suspended for two weeks. At Schaffer's urging, the Chiefs cut the financial penalty in half, saving him about $315,000.
Johnson was the subject of an online petition last week calling on the Chiefs not to let him break the team rushing record. He was never a fan favorite and his apology for the online comments came almost exactly one year after issuing a similar apology for alleged incidents involving women in Kansas City nightclubs.
Johnson was later sentenced to two years' probation after pleading guilty to two counts of disturbing the peace. One woman accused him of throwing a drink on her and another said he had pushed her head at a Kansas City night spot.
A judge suspended the sentence and said he would remove the guilty plea from the public record if Johnson has no further legal problems during probation.

A very scary weekend in Miami indeed...one that will give me nightmares for the next few days. But unlike my previous frightening dreams, I will be awaiting these nightmares with great anticipation. It was a great Halloween weekend in Miami.
It started off with the Kick-off party with Jensen Atwood aka Wade of Noah's Arc. The Vault Miami (www.thevaultmiami.com) is definitely doing big things by bringing in a highly recognized celebrity. The Vault had several out of town visitors from D.C. and ATL who flew into Miami for this once in a lifetime opportunity to party with Jensen. And the Vault didn't disappoint. Saturday night was "All About Jensen". From the photo ops to the autogragh signing to a raffle for dinner with Jensen, Saturday was a night to remember. The Vault also provided all its patrons a FREE shotglass as a thank-you for partying with them this weekend. I had a chance to speak with Jensen briefly on Friday and I was kind of thrown back. I must admit I have NEVER watched Noah's Arc series or movie. I really didn't know what to expect from him and the coonversation. But I was pleasantly surprised by how approachable he was when dealing with his fans. Even while his agent/manager and bodyguard stood by, he was still super cool and friendly. Not cocky or superficial, but his demeanor was like a friend you haven't seen in a very long time. Super nice guy would be my overall impression of Jensen.
During the Q&A session with Nic Nac at the Vault on Sunday, Jensen answered questions about his experience working with Halle Berry in "Eyes Were Watching God" to his most recent project, a music video. Jensen has done several projects and I am sure we will see great things from him in the future.
The bussel of Miami has got me wooped from the partying on South Beach and Lincoln Road, to the over the top party at Vault. Time to take a break and get ready for Thanksgiving. More pictures of Jensen and the weekend will be coming. I do apologize for the smokiness of some of the pictures. I was very close to the smoke machine in alot fo them. Take care folks. More King to come.

Guest Blogger Azarro reviews Michael Jackson's "This Is It Movie so check out his review below and make sure you go see this movie you have 2 weeks!
The tragic lost of the "King of Pop" in June has had many fans left in disbelief Including the alleged heavy drug use and rehashing of scandals of the past that he was acquitted of in a court of Law, However on Oct.28,2009 The fans, along with haters of Jackson saw anything but the frail, drug abusing, tortured soul they wanted you to believe he was. What we saw was, what would have truly been the show of all shows. The film began with the dancers telling their stories of where they were when they heard of the audition to dance with Micheal and the levels in which he impacted them as dancers. The roller coaster ride began when you saw preparations of special effects, dancing and Micheal being very hands on with every detail from set lighting and musical intros. You hear several classic tracks including: the Jackson 5 melody,Thriller,Bad,I just can't stop loving you. (just to name a few) The best part for me was to see that Micheal was dancing his ass off (sick my ass)as well as his vocal abilities seemed to get better over time and it was very refreshing to see that the nasty pictures people wanted to paint of him were simply wiped away from the word go. "Man in the Mirror" was where emotions were running high people in tears, clapping, cheering. This film has already set it's sights on breaking records bringing in millions in the first day and weather your a Fan or a Hater there is something to be said about a man who is one of the most misunderstood Icons of our times where even in his death he makes headlines and sells the hell out of anything his name is attached too.. This film is a MUST SEE...
President Barack Obama Wednesday signed into law the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act as part of the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act.
“After more than a decade of opposition and delay, we’ve passed inclusive hate-crimes legislation that protects people based on what they look like, who they love, how they pray, or who they are,” Obama said, addressing the crowd. “I promised Judy Shepard when she saw me in the Oval Office that this day would come.”
Obama went on to thank Sen. Edward Kennedy for his dedication to seeing that the bill was passed. Before leaving, he kissed Judy Shepard on the cheek and shook hands with her husband, Dennis, and son, Logan.
Because the hate-crimes measure was attached a defense bill, the signing was an unusual mix of defense officials and advocates for the hate-crimes legislation.
Alongside Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Adm. Mike Mullen, and the chairmen of the respective Armed Services Committees, Sen. Carl Levin and Rep. Ike Skelton, stood LGBT elected officials and the family members of Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. (his sisters Betty Byrd Boatner and Louvon Harris), for whom the hate-crimes measure is named.

Above are the majority of the covers from SGL Weekly Magazine below is a quick little interview i did with the publisher of the Magazine Mr. Cleavster Brooks.
How does one become the cover person for the magazine?
In order to be a cover model for SGL Weekly Magazine you have to be very active in the Same Gender Loving Community with a history of being an Actor/Actress, Author, Health Advocate, Film Director, Etc.
What's the ultimate goal of yours for the publication?
The Ultimate goal for the magazine is to continue to give a voice to the voiceless. To provide an outlet for the SGL Community I want them to know that we are here and we will support and do any and everything in our power to make sure they are heard.
What's next for the magazine?
I'm glad you asked that question. We just released our first book from the magazine called SGL Weekly by: Cleavester Brooks, which it is a book based on all of the interviews from the first 23 issues. Television is our next avenue that we will conquer. I am developing a program now kinda like Entertainment Tonight and E News. But it is geared towards the SGL Community. We are also developing a television network that you can watch from your home TV. Right now it is available online at www.sglliving.ning.com.
What's the history of the magazine?
I started SGL Weekly Magazine this pass March. The exact date was March 16,2009. It came from me being an avid reader of magazines and never finding myself in it and people that look and feel like me.
Thank you for taking the time to interview me. Be Blessed.

Grey's Anatomy : Callie and her father : You can't pray away the gay what a way to open up the lastest episode of the hit series Grey's Anatomy when Callie confronts her father about her sexually when he pays her a visit to the hospital with a pastor. I think alot of religious folks think that in real life you can just pray the gay away and you be fine and thats not the cause. The folks who are LGBT do not CHOOSE TO BE GAY!

Last weekend thousands came to the Nation's capital to take part in the National Equality March Weekend to make their voices heard and known about the issues affecting the LGBT community. Sadly in my opinion the Black LGBT community was no where to be seen through out the weekend.
On Saturday evening I stood in the freezing cold at the Campaign to End AIDS Rally & Vigil which took place right behind the White House where a few hundred folks came out to support the event and even though their were black LGBT folks there we didnt dominate the event as is such during the MAIN EVENT the NATIONAL EQUALITY MARCH which saw an estimated 200,000 folks march from Downtown DC to the Capitol and yet again where were the BLACK LGBT folks no where to be seen.
Blogger and Friend Darian Aaron wrote a piece on his site this week entitled "Open Thread: Why Are Black Gay Men Absent From The Gay Civil Rights Movement?" he wanted to know why their were no black gay men speakers at the march speaking and the reason there were none was because none showed up. I asked countless local black LGBT men were they taking part in the event and most all said why should i take part in an event that doesnt affect me? This march didnt affect us as a community because most black LGBT men dnt give a FUCK about issues regarding to our well being.
Black Lesbian Aiyi'nah Ford Electrifies National Equality March
From her speech:Most of our activists, they don’t live to fight the fight. Now to you I say, activism has many faces. It’s not just belonging to an organization, marching, or chanting. In fact, the most effective activism is claiming your own truth. While it’s nice to stand among the multitude, waving rainbow flags, protest signage abounding, how will you act when you are left alone with the company of your own consciousness? Will you stand as proud and as strong as the thousands of the people who have gathered here today? Or will you stand idle and let the idiosyncrasies of inequality prevail?”
Please fast forward to the 4:49 Mark to 9:30 to listen to Black Lesbian Aiyi'nah Ford Electrifies National Equality March
