Hey party people! I published this guide last year on AndresFlava and a lot of people said it was very helpful. Of course, this is not an all-inclusive guide, but there is some really good information especially if you have never been to Miami before. For additional info or questions, feel free to send me a direct message on Twitter.

Areas to Avoid
Overtown- area NW of downtown Miami
Comments: This is arguably one of the poorest area of the country. Avoid this area at night especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. High drug and crime area.
Liberty City-
Comments: Every large city has a hood area and Liberty City is ours. Liberty City is fine during the day, but at night, you should avoid this area if you are unfamiliar with the area. There are a lot of historic places, good shopping, and good soul food restaurants in “the city”. Just be cautious and be careful as you would at home. Use common sense.

Things to Do During the Day
Scooters on South Beach
Comments- Several places on South Beach to rent from on the beach, and it relatively cheap. Great way to see South Beach!
Miami Seaquarium- www.miamiseaquarium.com
Comments: Home of Flipper (YES, from the movie!) Our version of Sea World.
Key West
Comments: 3 hours drive South of Miami. If you are here for an extended vacation, might be a nice trip to do with friends. Check our Duval Street, Key West is party town. Stunning views on the way down; you will be surrounded by nothing but water.
Orlando- Universal Studios, Disney World, Sea World
Comments: 3 hours drive North of Miami. Take Florida Turnpike which is a toll road, appropriately $17 each way, will cut your drive time down a bit. Or take I-95. Orlando has the world famous Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Sea World and Disney World. Yes, this might add an additional expense to your trip. But if you have time and money, visit our neighbor to the North. Tampa, Florida is 45 mins to an hour west of Orlando and is home to Busch Gardens-Tampa.
Jet Skiing
Comments: Relatively cheap, check out South Beach for jet skii rental companies.
Pleasure Boats at Bayside
Comments: A lot of fun with a group of friends. Moderately price. During the day take a tour of Miami, Fisher Island, Star Island and the Bay, on a huge boat. At night, take the same boat, and dance the night away with the DJ on the bay.
High Speed Boat Ride
Comments: Kind of expensive, but if you are into thrill rides, this trip is for you. Go flying across the open ocean on go-fast boat.
Glass Bottom Boat Tours over the Coral Reefs
Comments: See the fishies swim below your feet. Check out Bayside for vendors.
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino- www.seminolehardrockhollywood.com
Cocowalk in Coconut Grove- http://www.cocowalk.net
Comments: Great shopping and dining. Movie theater and clubs are located here too. Depending on which direction you take, check out how you go from hood to trendy within a matter of blocks.
Sunset Place-5701 Sunset Drive , South Miami, FL
