A Strong Black Man 4 A Strong Black Man
but dont be so strong putting up walls thinking I will hurt you
trust my heart to be true
I dont pause and think before saying I love you
it's something I just do
look into my brown eyes they tell the truth
it's never my goal to offend you
sometimes I say things to get a reaction from you
and thats only because I cant read you
I'm just reaching out to touch you
dont let your heart be as cold as your hands
I know like a stone wall you're a Strong Black Man
I would never degrade you
disrespecting your manhood just aint cool
your money is not what attracted me to you
the Lago’ you drive does not make you
where you live makes me think no more or less of you
nor does the clothes you wear hell
I love you naked boo
I want what's best for you
but I dont care about
how long or which one or even if
you attended school
as long as for yourself you continue to improve
25,35,45 and beyond
every Strong Black Man I know
has at least one scrape, scratch or scar
take it for what it is chop it up as a loss
One day a another Strong Black Man's path you will cross
dont be so strong that you forget to bend
what could be more perfect than a mate like a twin
two powerful forces a Strong Black Man with his Strong Black Man
I know this Strong Black Man has alot of work of his own to do
I have to learn to bend just like you
tear down these bricks I've mounted between me and you
I know your worth and I already trust in you
Strong Black man I'm calling out to you
trust in me by trusting in yourself
work with the cards dealt
this Strong Black Man needs his Strong Black Man
come with me now let me warm your cold hands

Three Black Gay Men Killed in New Orleans, Police Hunt for Suspects
thanks to www.rodonline.typepad.com
New Orleans police have identified three black men who were gunned down in a 7th Ward home. The men were apparently gay, one possibly transgender, and police "believe the three victims knew their killers."
The victims were all from Mississippi and living together in a home on the 2500 block of Pauger Street. They are identified as Felix Pearson, 19; Kenneth Monroe, 27; and Darriel Wilson, 20. Nola.com reports the men were found Saturday afternoon after the building manager "said he saw the lower half of a man's body through a window and called 911."
Initial reports suggest the victims were black gay men and one possibly trans. A police source is quoted as saying "one" of the victim's "was wearing women's clothes." The Times Picayune also publishes a crime scene photo and the victims friends are clearly family. Local radio reports have reportedly outed the victims, says Eddie Warren, a Rod 2.0 reader in Metaire. "The victims were identified as gay on a call-in show on WYLD," he says, referring to a popular black station.
Friends of Darriel Wilson have created a memorial page on Facebook. So far there are more than 180 friends—many are from Mississippi and/or Wilson's hometown of Hattiesburg—and clearly many are other black gay men. Several Facebook friends are members of the ballroom community, too. Funeral arrangements are not complete for Wilson. No word yet on arrangements for Pearson and Monroe.
There is also no word yet on a possible motive for the triple murder but it may be too early to speculate on a hate crime theory. There were no signs of a home invasion and authorities believe "the victims and their killer or killers were associates and may have entered the home together."Regardless of the motive, there are three more deaths of black gay men to add to the crime blotter. What a way to end the year.

Food 4 Thought: Transforming the Mind,Body & Soul
We are a culture that gorges on being acquistive, but what we seek to acquire always seems to involve material gain. Not that that's inherently bad in and of itself. But so much focus on temporal things, while allowing our most precious assets-mind,body and soul to slide into rack and ruin, is foolish. So we have to create a new dream, new goals, and a new methodology for achieving those goals.
Turn off the tv and cell phone and crack open a book. Take an excercise class. Stop eating for two. Stop spending every single penny of your paycheck. Lose the negative friends. Meditate. Make an appointment for an annual physical. Visit a local school and offer your services as a tutor. Mentor a oung person who is heading down the path of self-destruction. Pray. Visit a nursing home. Learn to Love and Respect yourself.
Oftentimes, ironically enough, while we are laboring to improve somebody else's life or circumstances, we find our own path to redemption.
We do have the power and the duty to create miracles in our own lives. But we can't wait for somebody else to do it. As Mahatma Gandhi said, " Be the change you want to see in the world."

Fox Sports apologizes 4 Lewdness
Minnesota Vikings
tight end Visanthe Shiancoe is having a breakout season, and his national exposure is now at an all-time high.
Fox Sports televised a clip of Vikings owner Zygi Wilf’s postgame locker room speech after Sunday’s victory at Detroit, and Shiancoe was inadvertently shown naked in the background. He was wearing a towel that did little to cover him. The network apologized, but screen-shot images have surfaced all over the Internet.
Shiancoe wasn’t available to the media Monday, but he joked with a gossip columnist for the Star Tribune of Minneapolis about it. "How’d it look?" he told the newspaper.
But Shiancoe’s agent, Tony Agnone, told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that his client was embarrassed and hopes fans understand it wasn’t intentional, reports The Associated Press.

This game is over by Justbthat
Inspiration comes from the strangest places. Here I am at 5 am — high and bored not so much horny, but just chatting on A4A — talking to people about their plans for the weekend.
I get a message from a guy in Detroit. “Whad up doe… do u ever cum to da detroit area?”
“Never been!”
“Ok… would you ever be interested in visiting?”
“Actually I would… why you ask?”
His response was one of the most typical I’d ever heard. It went something exactly like this:
Well I am lookin for a true friend. I moved up here about 2 and half years ago from Florida and there is nothing up here but games… So I am lookin for someone to kick it with out of the area…
You know, sometimes I amaze even me.
I told him,
Know which games are yours to participate in and which are not.No matter where we go, people will play games. We have to learn for ourself when to shout UNO, yell YAHTZEE and even cry SORRY. Then there are times when we have to raise up and say fuck this, you cheated — you broke the rules — this game is over.
That’s not just related to love relationships but in our day to day interactions with people who try to force us to play their game day in and day out.
We play the games until we tired of playing them and if we continue, we are the ones who get played and become bitter.
Know which games are yours to participate in and which are not.
DC Council extends Liquor sales til 5am/Bars open 24/7
The law, proposed by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, was introduced by council member Jim Graham (D-Ward 1), who represents the nightlife-heavy neighborhoods of Adams Morgan and Mount Pleasant.
Graham said yesterday that he spoke with aides to Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D) the day the measure came up for a vote and passed.
Graham said he was asked to remove nightclubs -- a category that includes clubs with nude dancing -- from the legislation out of public safety concerns. Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier shut down a nightclub and a lodge earlier this year after outbreaks of violence. The council restored nightclubs to the legislation, leading Graham to vote against his own bill.
"All of the discussions [with mayoral aides] were about public safety and their appraisal of public safety," Graham said. "I assumed that was an expression of Lanier."
Traci L. Hughes, a D.C. police spokeswoman, said more than 4,000 officers from other jurisdictions will be in the District assisting local police with the inauguration.
2009 Grammy Nods are In
Lil Wayne topped the nominations with eight, Coldplay garnered seven, and Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West each earned six nods. Alison Krauss, John Mayer, Robert Plant, Radiohead and Jazmine Sullivan received five each, and Adele, Danger Mouse, Eagles, Lupe Fiasco, George Strait, and T.I. each received four nominations.
For the first time, nominations for the annual GRAMMY Awards were announced on prime-time television as part of "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night." The one-hour special — broadcast live on CBS from Nokia Theatre L.A Live — featured past GRAMMY winners and nominees reading nominations in several categories, as well as performing songs from the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame in celebration of the grand opening of the GRAMMY Museum.
Two-time GRAMMY winner LL Cool J and 50th GRAMMY Best New Artist nominee Taylor Swift co-hosted the telecast, and presenters/performers included four-time GRAMMY winner Christina Aguilera, five-time GRAMMY winners Mariah Carey and Celine Dion, the six-time GRAMMY-winning Foo Fighters, 14-time GRAMMY winner B.B. King, five-time GRAMMY winner John Mayer, and Swift.
The 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on "GRAMMY Sunday," Feb. 8, 2009, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8–11:30 p.m

Hudson Murder Suspect To Be Charged
CHICAGO (Reuters) - The estranged brother-in-law of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson was arrested and will be charged with the October slayings of three of her relatives, police said on Monday.
"We have obtained an arrest warrant for William Balfour. He was released to Chicago detectives," Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Monique Bond said, adding that Balfour would be charged with three counts of murder.
Balfour, 27, who had been married to Hudson's sister Julia, was questioned after the slayings but not charged. He was imprisoned for violating his parole on a previous attempted murder conviction, and was scheduled to have a hearing on Wednesday.
Bond would not give details about what evidence led police to charge Balfour for the shooting deaths of Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, brother, Jason Hudson, 29, and 7-year-old nephew, Julian King.
Donerson and Jason Hudson were found shot to death on October 24 in Donerson's South Side home. Four days later, King's body was found in a stolen sport utility vehicle parked on the city's West Side. A handgun used in the slayings was found nearby.
The Chicago Tribune reported investigators had evidence that Balfour had a gun matching the weapon. {Source}

ON HIATUS
I started this blog back on September of 2005 after meeting one of the orginial bloggers of the old school era Mr. Frank Roberts at an HIV/AIDS Black Gay Men's Summitt in Brooklyn in August of 2005. Like most blog i dont really dilvuledge my life's lessons to the world since i find it that nothing exciting really happens in my life. So i used this site as more of an entertainment site and also talk about other gay related issues here and there and whateva else is goin on in the world. I have been very addicted to blogging these last 3 years and its time for me to take a step back for a while and get me together and come back stronger and better. So until i return be good and thanks to the countless readers and people who have stopped by thru this journey.
I was first known to the world as Lauderdaleboi1500 and have been featured on countless sites. and then i made a boo boo and some how the site got deleted on my own accord on accident. then i was just andreallen. and now AndresFlava.

Calif. Supreme Court to take up gay marriage ban
The California Supreme Court accepted three lawsuits seeking to nullify Proposition 8, a voter-approved constitutional amendment that overruled the court's decision in May that legalized gay marriage.
All three cases claim the measure abridges the civil rights of a vulnerable minority group. They argue that voters alone did not have the authority to enact such a significant constitutional change.
As is its custom when it takes up cases, the court did not elaborate on its decision.
Along with the gay rights groups and local governments petitioning to overturn the ban, the measure's sponsors and Attorney General Jerry Brown had urged the Supreme Court to consider whether Proposition 8 passes legal muster.
The court directed Brown and lawyers for the Yes on 8 campaign to submit their arguments for why the ballot initiative should not be nullified by Dec. 19. It said lawyers for the plaintiffs, who include same-sex couples who did not wed before the election, must respond before Jan. 5. Oral arguments could be scheduled as early as March, according to court spokeswoman Lynn Holton.
Both opponents and supporters of Proposition 8 expressed confidence Wednesday that their arguments would prevail.
But they also agreed that the cases present the court's seven justices — six of whom voted to review the challenges — with complex questions that have few precedents in state case law.

Transgendered beaten by Memphis Police found dead
A transsexual who filed a lawsuit against the Memphis police after a February beating at the hands of an officer, was found shot to death in North Memphis late Sunday.
Duanna Johnson, 43, was shot in the head and died at the scene. In June, she offered to settle the lawsuit against the city of Memphis and the Memphis Police Department, but the parties could not reach an agreement.
According to online reports, one of Johnson’s attorney’s say the lawsuit will continue as planned.
Johnson was beaten in February in the booking area at 201 Poplar after an arrest on a prostitution charge.
Memphis police officers Bridges McRae and James Swain were fired after the incident, which became public when Johnson’s attorneys released a video of the beating to local media.
The video went viral and the story received national attention.
A loyal reader who hosts a radio show in Memphis, emailed SR.com this morning to say he received a voicemail message from a witness at the scene who stated Johnson was murdered by Memphis police — not three men as had been reported.
He plans to play the message on his radio show later today in Memphis.
Stay tuned for further developments.

Presidential Inauguration Ticket Process
The committee said all tickets would be provided free of charge and distributed through members of Congress.
If you want tickets for the swearing-in ceremony, officials say they are free, but you have to call your congressman or senator in order to get one, and the calls are already coming in.
The committee that plans the inaugural ceremonies says don't buy the tickets websites are trying to sell, because they don't even exist yet.
If you just want to stand along Pennsylvania Avenue on the day of the parade, spots are free between the White House and the Capitol—but you'll need to get there early to get a spot.
Tickets will not be distributed until one week before the inauguration and must be picked up in person.
The committee said that no tickets are commercially available, and people should be highly skeptical of anybody claiming to have them for sale.
“Any Web site or ticket broker claiming that they have inaugural tickets is simply not telling the truth,” said Howard Gantman, staff director for the congressional inaugural committee, which is chaired by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.
“Tickets for the swearing-in of the president-elect are all provided through members of Congress and the president-elect and vice-president-elect through the Presidential Inaugural Committee. We urge the public to view any offers of tickets for sale with great skepticism.”

Def Jam Exec VP Shakir Stewart Commits Suicide
According to http://www.billboard.com/
Def Jam executive vice president Shakir Stewart committed suicide today (Nov. 1) in New York, according to sources. No other details were available at deadline.
Stewart succeeded Jay-Z at the top of the Def Jam ladder in June and also retained his duties as senior VP of A&R at Island Def Jam.Stewart first joined Def Jam in 2004,The Oakland, Calif., native signed such artists as Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and newcomer Karina Pasian.
Stewart cut his teeth as a music executive at Hitco Music Publishing, where he was creative director and later senior VP of creative/GM and signed Beyonce Knowles.
Even before he gained a rep for promoting rap concerts during his Morehouse College days, Stewart was "the guy who was the head of passing out fliers at seven clubs a night, seven days a week in 20-degree weather," he told Billboard this summer.
Stewart said at the time it was his goal to help develop "new, young executives ... The hot executive who's 21, 22 years old and has a serious passion for music and the desire to work 27 hours a day. That's where I was at that time in my life. And that's who I'm looking to mentor. I don't see many people like that. Instead, I see a lot of kids who want to live the lifestyle but don't want to put in the work and do what it takes."

AllHipHop.com has learned:
While details are being confirmed, sources stated that Shakir died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and his body was found earlier today, in his apartment.
"L.A. Reid and all of us at Island Def Jam Music Group are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague Shakir Stewart," Def Jam told AllHipHop.com in a statement. "Shakir was an amazing man, in every sense of the word. A truly incredible friend and father who was an inspiration to not only our artists and employees, but to his family and the many people who had the privilege of counting him as a friend. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family at this very difficult time."

LL Cool J leaves the Rock Witchu Tour
LL Cool J's publicist confirmed today that he has dropped out of being opening act on the Rock Witchu Tour, according to the Associated Press. His publicity firm is citing an unnamed scheduling conflict as the reason why he is leaving the tour. There currently are only two more dates left for the tour: Detroit on Tuesday and New York City on Saturday. The AP report goes on to say that Janet is expected to announce more dates. While originally intended to be the opening act for the bulk of the shows on the tour, LL Cool J only ended up performing on the tour four times - Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and Kansas City. A handful of other dates had been postponed due to Janet's recent illness.
I knew something was up when he was at the DC show and did not come out at all and sources told me that him and janet had a fallen out i was surprise to hear he did kansas city a few days ago. Janet ruined LL Cool J promotion of his album with her "illness" granted live nation who is the company who is promoting janets tour top official did confirm to me that she was indeed sick i guess LL felt differently otherwise. whateva the case were people really coming to see LL anyway so was this a good or bad move by LL??

Andresflava extends Condolences to J-Hud & Family
Around 4 p.m. Eastern Standard time, two black SUVs believed to be carrying Hudson family members pulled out of the basement garage of the Trump Tower in downtown Chicago. An unmarked police squad car left shortly after that, followed by a crowd of about a dozen people who left through the luxury hotel’s lobby and declined comment.
Soon after, the SUVs arrived at the offices of the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The vehicles left the scene about 4:54 p.m. EST. (Source)
Chicago police brought Julian’s body to the medical examiner’s office shortly after noon today and Hudson and other family members arrived about three hours later, said office spokesman Sean Howard.
When the group entered a viewing room at the office Hudson held her head down, as if praying, he said. The family then identified Julian via a video screen mounted on a wall that showed his face. The family chose the video screen option rather than looking directly at the body, Howard said.
The family was “obviously distraught,” but Howard said Hudson “remained strong for her family. It was very clear she was the leader.
“She held hands with her family. It was obviously a very emotional moment.”
When they saw the boy’s face on the screen, Hudson told investigators, “Yes, that is him,” Howard said.
Sources say earlier today police told Hudson and her family that the body of the boy found in the back of a truck on Chicago’s West Side was Julian.
Sources said that the boy was shot twice in the head and also suffered head trauma. The boy was wearing basketball shorts and a white T shirt when found. Police believe the boy was shot to death inside the Suburban. Police are testing the clothing of a man in custody for gunshot residue. The clothing is believed to belong to William Balfour, Jennifer Hudson’s bother-in-law.
Balfour was taken into custody at a girlfriend’s home hours after the bodies were found. Sources say the girlfriend contradicted his alibi. Police say they’ve also caught him in at least one other lie. Police were able to track his whereabouts Friday through cell phone records, sources said. The girlfriend lives two miles from where the truck was found.
Hudson family members are on their way to the Cook County medical examiner’s office this afternoon to identify the body. Police Supt. Jody Weis will hold a press conference at 4 p.m. today.
Police arrived at the Suburban with Illinois license plate X584859 before 8 a.m. in the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue, after receiving a call of a suspicious vehicle.
LaSahawn Bouie, 36, said officers first opened the back door. “They knew there was a body in there,” he said, adding that investigators looked inside and then too pictures.
It was found by a 75-year-old who lives on the block, John Louden. He said he has lived on the block for 18 years and worried about people selling drugs in the abandoned building behind it. He saw the SUV while walking his dog. After a double-take, he realized the license plate matched the one police were looking for.
“I didn’t look in there. I didn’t touch it. I knew it was a strange vehicle,” Louden said. He said police showed up in about five minutes after his wife called them. They discovered the child inside. The body was removed and the SUV was towed away for evidence processing. “I feel bad about that baby,” Louden said.

Dos n Donts on Nov 5th 2008
To keep the peace and keep a lot of folks from getting nervous, I think we should develop a list of acceptable celebrations, and behaviors we should probably avoid - at least for the first few days:
1. No shouting "Thank you Jesus!" - at least not in public.
2. No calling in sick or coming in late on November 5th. They'll get nervous if too many of us don't show up, or we all come in at the same time.
3. No playing of the theme song to the Jeffersons ("Moving on Up") or doing the George Jefferson shuffle (unless you are in your office with the door closed). James Brown's "I Feel Good", however, is acceptable.
5. No bringing of BBQ ribs or fried chicken to lunch in the company cafeteria for at least a week.
6. DO NOT, appear to walk past your caucasian co-worker and suddenly turn & yell BOOO YAH! They may be seen as a sign of aggression and, in preparation for the end of days may be carrying a concealed weapon. In which case, the incident might end quite badly.
7. Please refrain from doing the Running Man or the Cabbaage Patch. However, if there is a couch in your reception area, feel free to jump up on it and shout "Oprah, I LOVE Obama!"
8. Do not, play excerpts from Martin Luther King's I've Been to the Mountain Top, especially, not the part that says "Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream." (This may be perceived as an overt threat)
9. Do not, have money printed with Obama's face on it and attempt to spend it. Federal prison may not be the county lock-up, but it's still jail
10. DO NOT, let your boss come in to his or her office to find you sitting behind his/her desk with your feet up talking about "there's gonna be some changes around here." This WILL get you fired, and possibly arrested if you resist.
If I've missed anything feel free to add to the list. I just want to make sure we're all on the same page when Obama brings this thing home on November 5th.

Noah's arc:Jumping The Broom Movie Review pt 2
From the opening scenes where we see (noah) sitting on the deck and kicking up his heels in his fierce boots to the drama between chance and eddie would it finally end?, to ricky not growing up at all and still being a slut, to mama alex wilding out and acting a fool. The movie saw much growth in all the characters old and new and in the end you hope more would come from it. This movie gave you comedy, drama, and even made you teared eyed. Patrik Ian Polk did a outstanding job in this film which only took 15 days to film in Nova scotia Canada. Below is a video capturing scences from the film as well as some pics i took from the premiere yesterday at E Street Cinemas.
