"THIS IS IT" Movie Review
Guest Blogger Azarro reviews Michael Jackson's "This Is It Movie so check out his review below and make sure you go see this movie you have 2 weeks!
The tragic lost of the "King of Pop" in June has had many fans left in disbelief Including the alleged heavy drug use and rehashing of scandals of the past that he was acquitted of in a court of Law, However on Oct.28,2009 The fans, along with haters of Jackson saw anything but the frail, drug abusing, tortured soul they wanted you to believe he was. What we saw was, what would have truly been the show of all shows. The film began with the dancers telling their stories of where they were when they heard of the audition to dance with Micheal and the levels in which he impacted them as dancers. The roller coaster ride began when you saw preparations of special effects, dancing and Micheal being very hands on with every detail from set lighting and musical intros. You hear several classic tracks including: the Jackson 5 melody,Thriller,Bad,I just can't stop loving you. (just to name a few) The best part for me was to see that Micheal was dancing his ass off (sick my ass)as well as his vocal abilities seemed to get better over time and it was very refreshing to see that the nasty pictures people wanted to paint of him were simply wiped away from the word go. "Man in the Mirror" was where emotions were running high people in tears, clapping, cheering. This film has already set it's sights on breaking records bringing in millions in the first day and weather your a Fan or a Hater there is something to be said about a man who is one of the most misunderstood Icons of our times where even in his death he makes headlines and sells the hell out of anything his name is attached too.. This film is a MUST SEE...
Obama Signs Historic Federal LGBT Hate Crime Prevention Act
President Barack Obama Wednesday signed into law the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act as part of the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act.
“After more than a decade of opposition and delay, we’ve passed inclusive hate-crimes legislation that protects people based on what they look like, who they love, how they pray, or who they are,” Obama said, addressing the crowd. “I promised Judy Shepard when she saw me in the Oval Office that this day would come.”
Obama went on to thank Sen. Edward Kennedy for his dedication to seeing that the bill was passed. Before leaving, he kissed Judy Shepard on the cheek and shook hands with her husband, Dennis, and son, Logan.
Because the hate-crimes measure was attached a defense bill, the signing was an unusual mix of defense officials and advocates for the hate-crimes legislation.
Alongside Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Adm. Mike Mullen, and the chairmen of the respective Armed Services Committees, Sen. Carl Levin and Rep. Ike Skelton, stood LGBT elected officials and the family members of Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. (his sisters Betty Byrd Boatner and Louvon Harris), for whom the hate-crimes measure is named.

Whats is SGL Weekly Magazine??
Above are the majority of the covers from SGL Weekly Magazine below is a quick little interview i did with the publisher of the Magazine Mr. Cleavster Brooks.
How does one become the cover person for the magazine?
In order to be a cover model for SGL Weekly Magazine you have to be very active in the Same Gender Loving Community with a history of being an Actor/Actress, Author, Health Advocate, Film Director, Etc.
What's the ultimate goal of yours for the publication?
The Ultimate goal for the magazine is to continue to give a voice to the voiceless. To provide an outlet for the SGL Community I want them to know that we are here and we will support and do any and everything in our power to make sure they are heard.
What's next for the magazine?
I'm glad you asked that question. We just released our first book from the magazine called SGL Weekly by: Cleavester Brooks, which it is a book based on all of the interviews from the first 23 issues. Television is our next avenue that we will conquer. I am developing a program now kinda like Entertainment Tonight and E News. But it is geared towards the SGL Community. We are also developing a television network that you can watch from your home TV. Right now it is available online at www.sglliving.ning.com.
What's the history of the magazine?
I started SGL Weekly Magazine this pass March. The exact date was March 16,2009. It came from me being an avid reader of magazines and never finding myself in it and people that look and feel like me.
Thank you for taking the time to interview me. Be Blessed.

You Can't Pray Away The Gay!
Grey's Anatomy : Callie and her father : You can't pray away the gay what a way to open up the lastest episode of the hit series Grey's Anatomy when Callie confronts her father about her sexually when he pays her a visit to the hospital with a pastor. I think alot of religious folks think that in real life you can just pray the gay away and you be fine and thats not the cause. The folks who are LGBT do not CHOOSE TO BE GAY!

2009 National Equality March DC
Last weekend thousands came to the Nation's capital to take part in the National Equality March Weekend to make their voices heard and known about the issues affecting the LGBT community. Sadly in my opinion the Black LGBT community was no where to be seen through out the weekend.
On Saturday evening I stood in the freezing cold at the Campaign to End AIDS Rally & Vigil which took place right behind the White House where a few hundred folks came out to support the event and even though their were black LGBT folks there we didnt dominate the event as is such during the MAIN EVENT the NATIONAL EQUALITY MARCH which saw an estimated 200,000 folks march from Downtown DC to the Capitol and yet again where were the BLACK LGBT folks no where to be seen.
Blogger and Friend Darian Aaron wrote a piece on his site this week entitled "Open Thread: Why Are Black Gay Men Absent From The Gay Civil Rights Movement?" he wanted to know why their were no black gay men speakers at the march speaking and the reason there were none was because none showed up. I asked countless local black LGBT men were they taking part in the event and most all said why should i take part in an event that doesnt affect me? This march didnt affect us as a community because most black LGBT men dnt give a FUCK about issues regarding to our well being.
Black Lesbian Aiyi'nah Ford Electrifies National Equality March
From her speech:Most of our activists, they don’t live to fight the fight. Now to you I say, activism has many faces. It’s not just belonging to an organization, marching, or chanting. In fact, the most effective activism is claiming your own truth. While it’s nice to stand among the multitude, waving rainbow flags, protest signage abounding, how will you act when you are left alone with the company of your own consciousness? Will you stand as proud and as strong as the thousands of the people who have gathered here today? Or will you stand idle and let the idiosyncrasies of inequality prevail?”
Please fast forward to the 4:49 Mark to 9:30 to listen to Black Lesbian Aiyi'nah Ford Electrifies National Equality March
Drag Queen Shquiteea Lee speak up & perform at AIDS RAlly & Vigil on Sat Oct 10

Miami Carnival Blows into Town this Weekend
From the Desk of King in Miami
Follow me on Twitter for the Latest Haps in South Florida
------------------------------------------
Whew! I must apologize for my long absence from Andresflava and the blogging world. I been working on building my dancing empire in Miami and it is alot of work. But I am back and a B#%$&! has alot to say. As always I will give it to you rough and without the fluff. With all things considered, lets ease into it very SLOWLY.
Well, one my favorite weekends are upon us, Miami Carnival weekend! All my Caribbean bruthas and sistas will be in town living it up Miami style. This is the first year in recent memory that Miami and Broward are combining their celebrations. I guess the recession had everyone consolidating. It starts will a flag party on Friday. The party will keep going on Saturday night with a Carnival party at the Vault Miami (www.thevaultmiami.com) with 2 floors, DJ Blaze in the mix, FREE food and giveaways. And it culminates on Sunday with a huge parade into downtown Miami with HUGE floats, exotic costumes, and Caribbean bands. If you got a few dollars to spend, it's a trip worth taking to Miami this weekend. Plus there is no work for most of us on Monday, since it will be Columbus Day. The flotilla is also this weekend, meaning South Florida waterways will be filled with yachts, boats, and jet skis.
Follow me on Twitter for the Miami Carnival Updates and Columbus Day festivities here in Miami. AND yes, it is expected to be in the 90's this weekend, so bring shorts! For more info on Miami Carnival, check out their website, www.miamicarnival.net.

National Equality March Guide Overview
On October 11, 2009, we will gather in Washington, D.C. from all across America to let our elected leaders know that now is the time for full equal rights for LGBT people. We’ve had a moment thrust upon us by the election of President Barack Obama and the spirit of hope and change, and also by the sense of entitlement in the new generation of grassroots organizing. This march is a vehicle to a larger goal. We want to work to bridge the gap between the national organizations and the grassroots community organizers. We will gather. We will strategize. We will march. And we will leave energized and empowered to do the work that needs to be done in every community across the nation. This is only the beginning.
The march is not our final destination. It is our first step toward building a national grassroots network that will continue organizing until we have achieved full equality.
Our single demand: Equal protection in all matters governed by civil law in all 50 states.
Our philosophy: As members of every race, class, faith, and community, we see the struggle for LGBT equality as part of a larger movement for peace and social justice.
Our strategy: Decentralized organizing for this march in every one of the 435 Congressional districts will build a network to continue organizing beyond October.
This is our single message as we march on Washington on October 11, 2009. We seek equal protection in all matters governed by civil law in all 50 states.
