These Last few months have been a great time to see movies and
Avatar- A movie that puts "Twilight" back where it belongs on the shelves. the movie really defines where special effects future is heading. A great action/scifi movie with a solid story .. 10's across the board
Sherlock Holmes- Now i love me some Robert downing Jr. but this movie was cute, and kind of funny but I could have waited for it on DVD. he was great and so was Rachael Adams, however the story just did nothing for me really.. 5 out of 10
Alvin and the Chipmunks (The Squeakquel)- As a kid I loved the chipmunks and I loved the 1st movie. This one was not as good and the only good parts where when the Chipettes where on which wasn't enough if you ask me. their version of "single Ladies" was cute til I remembered who's sings that song. 5 out of 10
It's Complicated- Meryl Streep is all I have to say but wait Alec Baldwin ,Oh wait Steve Martin OK Now that's all I have to say. This is for the grown and sexy not for those with a limited movie type. it was so funny that I may see it again. this is the year of Indie films. 10's across the board
NINE- if your looking for are looking for "Chicago 2" this isn't it. having seen the play years ago with Ms. Eartha Kitt I must say that it was missing most of a solid story. I loved it don't get me wrong but I would have loved it more at home on a DVD. Musical Numbers were great Fergie's "Be Italian" showed her in a very different vocal range then we are use too and it was very good. Kate Hudson shocked me the most because I never thought she could dance or sing then i remembered her mother is "Goldie Hawn" she truly made a name for herself here. Sofia Lauren is more stunning now then she has ever been. Even though I rave about it the story becomes very unclear (even though I know it) so i give it 6 out 10
This year was probably the best year for movies in years. This was the year of real actors and actresses not singers trying to act or vice verse with movies like "Chicago" and now "Nine" Actors and Actresses are going back to basics Dancing, singing and ACTING (which is a skill that not everyone had)There is a real award season this year due to the great movies of this year and the work that was spent casting and directing. Bravo 09" for ending the decade on a high Note for movies now next year let's work on the music industry.
In movie News: Sex and the City 2 will be release May 28Th of Next and the trailer is making it's rounds now ( I'm so excited)this one shows us how they all came to be friends and what our girls were like 80's style.
Jennifer Hudson has been confirmed to play Winnie Mandela. Now this what i am talking about people She is An Academy Award winning actress because SHE CAN ACT. Jennifer also has a indie film pending for release with fellow Academy Award winning actor Forest Whitaker.
WHY DID I GET MARRIED 2 is due out in Mid April and from what I understand this story really is focused through the eyes of Janet's Character (Patricia)and it features EVERYONE in the original cast and from the preview it's going to be Juicy.
Chris Brown is part of and ensemble cast in "Takers" Due out in the beginning of 2010 Chris is also one of the Exec. producers of this film Which also stars Paul walker,Idris Elba,Matt Dillon,Tip 'T.I.' Harris,Michael Ealy,Hayden Christensen just to name a few. (I am pulling for you Chris)
In Music News:
OMG! Beyonce has a new album coming due out in 2010 (can you say Mariah?!?)with the new year she is coming out with a new fragrance "Heat" Also it has been rumored that she will be headlining Wynn's hotel and Casino for 5 years for 500 million. (Not true) 500 million is what they are hoping to take in with her run. people get a clue and Beyonce sit down.
Lady Gaga- has released "Telephone" as her new single which in my eyes is much better then "Video phone"
can't wait to see the video
Billboard charts in the final week of the year Susan Boyle remains at no.1 with her debut CD "I dreamed A dream" Mary J.Bilge is at no.2 ,But the big winner in this weeks charts is Taylor Swift who this time last year was no.1 with "fearless" well swift is no.5 with the same album "Fearless" in a whole year she is down 5 spots. Damn 09" belongs to Taylor Swift. Big losers to close out the charts Beyonce and Rhianna: Beyonce's album is no.51 on the charts this time last year she was no.3 while Rhianna cried victim and her lastest album "Rated R" people didn't buy it.
Janet will stake her claim in 2010 as well with "Why did I get Married too" her semi-auto biography and an album. She is back to basics on this new album Terry and Jimmy and her first home A&R records. I'm ready are you?

A Decade Later: Andresflava Reflects
Well we are ending the first decade of the Millemium and i wanted to take a look back what has gone on in my crazy life these last 10 years so lets take a look back.
2000- Wow 2000 was when u can say i found myself i graduated from high school as well as moved out on my own as well as had my first sexual experience with a guy i will name "conquistador".
2001- January 2001 i was able to go to the Super Bowl in Tampa with my Best Friend Ramon who's father was the founder of the group "Baha Men" you might know them best for their hit song back then called "who let the dogs out" That was a very memorable weekend i will never forget. Um February saw me leave the state for about 5 months to journey to Appomattox,VA where the Civil War ended a small country town i moved in with a friend and his lover at the time and it taught me that life is what you make of it and you cant believe what people say. I would say the experience opened up my eyes alot and i was able to grow but i missed home and home was where the heart was.
The Summer of 2001 to the Summer of 2002 I dealt with alot of family turmoil between me and my family as well as turmoil amongst themselves which for the second time told me i was tired of Florida again and it was best for me to leave. The journey this time was Raleigh,NC where i was extremely bored and slightly depressed at being in a boring place. I stayed in Raleigh for about 4 month til the mid ogf december where the city had shut down one day due to a terrible snow storm and that was my sign that it was time to go back to Florida once again.
2003- Was an life changing experience on alot of levels for me in February i began my first real relationship with a great guy which last for about 2.5 years which ended on my birthday of all days but hey those are the breaks. In May of this year i started working as an HIV/AIDS Youth Advocate/Outreach Worker where i would go into the community and talk to youth about HIV/AIDS/STDs anfd this journey lasted for 5 years before moving to DC in Dec of 07. Um in Oct of this year i was diagnosed with the HIV Virus from an sexual enciunter that i had prior to getting into my relationship with Q who was negative and is still. IF you look to the right side column i talk about living with HIV with blogger Darian Aaron. The reminding 2 months of 03 is a blur.
2004-I moved into my first apartment with my boyfriend in March of this year and this is when i had to become an adult and be more responisble but that didnt always happen due to not prioritizing what matters and as a result i was evicted. The rest of the year was an ok year i celebrated Thanksgiving with my boyfriend and my family which i thought would be a disaster but turned out wonderful in the end. I was afraid of how my family would react to us being together and having Thanksgiving but their were no blow ups and the food came out perfect.
2005 was an up and down year which saw me lose my grandfather to Cancer. That pretty much all i can remeber from this year.
2006 i lost my apartment due to letting "Friends" get the better of me and i allowed myself to lose focus of what was important but in the end i can blame no one but me for losing my apartment. Also this year i ended my 2.5 year relationship with Q as well as.
2007 saw me enter my 2nd real relationship with "Neo" and even though it was for a short spell it was an good one looking back. The could have and should have you go thru once it has ended was something i still think about today. On December 27 i said goodbye to my job and Florida and hello to the Nation's Capital Washington DC.
2008-2009 Has been a very rough spell for me while being here in DC it has saw me become homeless and live in a shelter and it has opened up my eyes to alot of things that i need to do to get back on track for the New Year and a New Me! 3010 i proclaim it to me my year!

Karate Kid Trailer- 6/11/10
Sex and the City 2 Trailer---5/28/10
When we last left the 'Sex and the City' crew, Charlotte braced herself for motherhood. Miranda tired of it. Samantha ditched monogamy for free agency on the run up to her 50th birthday, and after some lavish planning and missed connections, Carrie and Big finally tied the knot at City Hall.
All seemed right at last with our favorite, aging fashionistas. But as Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) says in the trailer for next summer's 'Sex and the City 2': "it's been two years. And in two years, amazing things can happen."
The film will be released on May 28,2010.

Steph Jones - Official Music Video (Little Drummer Boy)
Steph Jones is back with a new single entitled "Little Drummer Boy" and he says this is not a song for just the holiday season but that "I didnt make this song just for christmas. Its a song that I remade to show that when its your true calling you are to be the best you can in order to inspire others..which will bring people together. When me, Jordin Sparks and B Scott were marching with those drums I imagined us being on the frontline in a war and it was my way of saying that it doesn't matter if you are man, women, gay or straight... We should all be able to come together and fight for a certain cause no matter who you are.. And once we trully figure that out then that's when we grow as a people."

New York Senate Rejects Marriage Equality
Wow it was amazing to watch the debate streaming live yesterday on the New York Senate website to possible view history in New York possibly becoming the 6th state to reconize same sex marriage but their was not enough votes needed to make history.
The New York Senate rejected a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage in the Empire State by a vote of 38-24 after a passionate debate on the floor earlier today. The Senate debate on marriage equality was streamed live over the internet and received over 10,000 views setting a record for the most watched Senate hearing to date. I must these two ladies speeches below were very powerful. First Brooklyn Senator Velmanette Montgomery speaks on the Marriage Equality Bill then it will be followed by Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson.

D.C. Council votes to legalize same-sex marriage
The D.C. Council voted Tuesday to legalize same-sex marriage in the District, as the city moves quickly to join five states in allowing gay couples to marry.
After months of debate, the council passed the bill 11 to 2. It still must take a second vote in two weeks before the measure can go to Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D), who has said he will sign it.
If the bill survives a required congressional review period, the District will join New Hampshire, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont and Massachusetts in allowing same-sex marriage.
Council members Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) and Yvette M. Alexander (D-Ward 7) were the only two members to vote against the bill.
Before casting his vote, Barry gave an impassioned speech noting that he is a longtime supporter of gay rights. But Barry said that his constituents oppose same-sex marriage, and that he believed the council should have authorized a referendum on the issue.
"I stand here today to express in no uncertain terms my strong commitment to the gay and lesbian, bisexual, transgender community on almost every issue except this one," Barry said.
He then went on to plead with gay and lesbian residents not to hold his "no" vote against him.
"It's not fair to make this one issue a litmus test as to one's commitment to human rights, to justice, and I resent those who would make it a litmus test," Barry said.
Private polls show that black voters are far more likely than white voters in the District to oppose same-sex marriage. Both Barry and Alexander represent majority black wards and they also have stated that they were under considerable pressure from African-American ministers in their wards to vote against the bill.
