"Ink Not Mink" New PETA Campaign













"Ink Not Mink": a new campaign for PETA. PETA on Arenas: His sizzling moves have earned him nicknames such as "Agent Zero" and "Hibachi," a Japanese word that means "bowl of fire." Gilbert's a fierce competitor on the court, but it's his compassion toward animals off the court that makes him a true all-star.

This former NBA Rookie of the Year got involved with PETA in order to raise awareness of cruelty to animals and is baring his skin to help animals keep theirs. Amar'e explains, "I wouldn't want to see anything cruel happen to any animals just for fashion." Animals used in the fur industry often suffer gruesome deaths. To avoid damaging the animals' pelts, workers frequently electrocute and poison these furry creatures and peel their skin off while the animals are still alive. Former NBA Bad Boy Dennis Rodman apart of the new PETA Campaign. Rodman unveil his provocative new PETA ad in the very tents where designers are pushing fur. In PETA’s ad, Rodman appears nude—except for his tattoos—alongside the caption, “Think Ink, Not Mink,” and urges: “Be comfortable in your own skin and let animals keep theirs.”Rodman is the first man—and the first sports star—to pose for PETA’s “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” series, which has featured Pamela Anderson, Kim Basinger, and Christy Turlington. When the 6’8” basketball legend, whose own “Dennis Rodman Foundation” helps the homeless, heard about PETA’s program that donates thousands of castoff fur coats to homeless shelters across the country, he instantly agreed to pose for the cause, explaining that furriers have pushed free furs on him over the years and he’s always refused to take them—he only wears fake fur.
