LA Rapper Murs takes on homophia in hip hop with his new music video “Animal Style.”

Los Angeles-based rapper Murs debuted a new music video, "Animal Style," where he kisses another man and sports a "Legalize Gay" shirt to combat homophobia in hip-hop.
Hip-hop has long been a powerful vehicle for social change. Some rappers, however, have been criticized for reinforcing homophobic beliefs and undermining hip-hop's power for more compassionate social-awareness.
With his latest music video, Murs attempts to challenge the pervasiveness of homophobia in his genre.
On his YouTube page, Murs wrote that it is "crucial for some of us in the hip hop community to speak up on the issues of teen suicide, bullying, and the overall anti-homosexual sentiment that exist within hip hop culture."
