Noah's Arc Movie Week pt 1

Favorite moment from noah's arc season 1 all week long i will be looking back and reliving my best moments of Noah's Arc which will all lead up to the premiere of the movie this friday. Noah's Arc first made its debut on LOGO back in Oct 19, 2005. Set in Los Angeles, the show features the lives of four black gay friends dealing with everyday trials, tribulations, triumphs and tragedies. Noah's Arc are consisted of Darryl Stephens as Noah Nichols,Rodney Chester as Alex Kirby,Christian Vincent as Ricky Davis,Doug Spearman as Chance Counter.

Musiq Soulchild feat Mary J Blige

Musiq 5th studio album is scheduled to come out Dec 9th entitled "On My Radio"

Beyonce 2 release"Halo" & "Ego" as next singles

Rap-Up.com attended an exclusive press listening for Beyoncé’s third album I Am… last week at CineSpace in Los Angeles where Mathew Knowles played the double-disc LP and hinted at the follow-up singles to “If I Were a Boy” and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).”

On the Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) and Beyoncé-produced second pop single “Halo,” the 27-year-old sings about her knight in shining armor (Hov?): “Baby I can see your halo / You know you’re my saving grace / You’re everything I need and more / It’s written all over your face.”

The ballad features heavy drums, claps, piano, and strong vocals from B. “Halo” was written by Beyoncé, Tedder, and E. Kidd Bogart. The entire first disc, I Am… Beyoncé, contains acoustic ballads in the same vein as “Halo.”

While pop radio will be serviced with “Halo,” urban radio will get “Ego.” Beyoncé kicks it old school on the uptempo throwback R&B jam off I Am… Sasha Fierce produced and written by the singer, Elvis “BlacElvis” Williams, and Harold Lilly (Alicia Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name”). Loud trumpets and organs infiltrate the funky track, which was a favorite among the media present.

The hook goes something like this: “You got a big ego, such a huge ego / I love his big ego / It’s too big, it’s too wide, it’s too strong, it won’t fit, it’s too much / He walk like this because he can back it up.”

B even shows her cocky side: “I talk like this because I can back it up / I got a big ego.”

Mathew disclosed that they reached out to Kanye West about appearing on “Ego,” but he wasn’t available at the time. However, a remix is not out of the question.

TIME TO VOTE! EARLY VOTING HAS STARTED IN FLORIDA...

From the Desk of King D in Miami

Democrat Barack Obama kicked off Florida's early voting season Monday with a rally in Tampa. He visits Orlando tonight and Miami Tuesday. Like 43 other states in our country, early voting polls and absentee voting got underway in Florida. I voted today at 8:08am and everything went extremely smooth. There were news reports of 3 hour long lines in some parts of South Florida. So vote early to avoid the massive lines on election day. I also plan to attend the Obama rally tommorrow in downtown Miami. VOTE EARLY! VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN FOR PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT.

Arrest in DC Gay Bash Victim Case

Thanks 2 Rod 2.0

Robert Hanna is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the Sept. 7 beating. Hunter, 37, and a friend were severely beaten by four men as the two were headed to the BeBar. A severe blow to the head left Hunter in a coma and lingering ten days in a vegetative state. Hunter died ten days later.

Police initially believed the attack was motivated by anti-gay bias but later said they had "insufficient evidence" to support that motive. "At this time, there is no information to classify this crime as a hate or bias crime," said Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier, who was joined Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and other officials at a news conference announcing the arrest. Lanier tells WaPo Hanna and Hunter "exchanged words" which led to a fight and Hunter's fatal injuries. The police chief did not reveal what was said in the altercation but the two men did not know each other.

Sources close to the investigation say Hanna has "insisted he acted in self-defense after Hunter made advances toward him." This will likely be the foundation of yet another pitiful and hopefully unsuccessful gay panic defense.

Four men beat up two gay men who were mkinding their own business and headed to a gay club. Reportedly there were not robbed. What "words" could have been exchanged that could have lead to such a brutal beating? An involuntary manslaughter charge hardly seems appropriate for such a vicious attack, but, gay men are often re-victimized in their death.

The Day When the World Stopped:My Story

5 years ago today my life did a complete 360 degree when i found out i was HIV positive. That was a very hard day. After the tears and sayin why. I had t quickly get myself together because at the time i was in a long term relationship and i had to inform my then boyfriend of my now changed status. At the time of me finding out my status My best friend was there and did a good job comforting me as a good best friend is suppose to do i dont know what i would have done if i was all alone. My then boyfriend at the time took it hard and even though i cheated on him, it was hard those 2 weeks after i found out my status as we waited for his results to come back which were negative we concluded that prior to us starting a relationship in February of 2003 i was infected. I later put the puzzle together on to who it was that indeed infect me and even though he lied and said it wasnt him i knew it was.

I also had been working as an HIV/AIDS outreach worker which i started back in May 2003 so i knew my life wasnt over but still it was an hurtful feeling to know that i had a life threating illness that no medicine or nothin could cure. These last 5 years have been good for the most part health wise. I havent had any sickness except for a common cold and have been living a normal life. I have my good days and bad days, some days i am full of energy and other days it takes alot for me to muster up energy, but i get thru the day because i am a survivor. I have seen death knock at the door for so many former clients of mine and its sad that had to die at such a young age simply because they stop fighting the good fight for life. I cant even count how many personal close friends have become infected in the last 3 years. I get sad every time i get that phone call but i am glad that they know they can call me for counseling and know i will be there to fight the fight. Since moving here to DC from Florida i kinda of miss being actively apart in the community on a daily basis, but their our days i am happy. It is a very depressing job sometimes to have to tell someone after testing them that they are positive when they come back for their results, or helping a family in need to pay their rent when they been evicted. But my best time of workin in the field was the holidays when i saw the smiling faces of kids when we delivered gifts to their homes at christmas or a turkey with all the goodies at Thanksgiving. So in closing i am grateful to be alive and healthy and living each day to the fullest.
